Coach Jodi Wall
My name is Jodi Wall, and I am the Physical Education teacher here at Basswood Elementary. Prior to my arrival at Basswood in 2023, I taught in Oklahoma. I am married and have four wonderful children. We love to stay active and spend time together as a family.
What do I need to wear to PE?
In order for all students to safely participate in P.E. activities, shoes for P.E. should be rubber soled, and MUST have a closed toe and heel. It is important for students to wear tennis shoes for class, not only for safety, but in order to actively participate in class activities. Not wearing appropriate shoes to P.E. may result in having to do an alternate activity for the day, as well as affect their participation grade.. This is not a punishment, just a safer way to help the student receive their physical activity for the day.
What do I do if my child is unable to participate in PE due to illness or injury?
Students who are unable to participate, or have restricted activity need a note from their guardian explaining why they cannot participate or any activity restrictions they may have. If a student is out longer than 3 class periods of Physical Education, a doctor's note will be required. The doctor's note should state how long they are excused or restricted and when the student can return to physical activity.
